Glenzie vs Strathendrick
Back on Winning Ways
Another afternoon of wind and rain made for a scrappy game strewn with errors from both sides.
Paul opened the scoring crashing through from a tap penalty on the 5m line, minutes later Haddock increased the lead after a powerful run from Shanahan got them over the gain line and Derby followed up with his first of the day running in strongly from the 22. Glenzie had other scoring opportunities throughout the half but the slippery ball eluded their grasp at vital moments. Half time 19-0. Glenzie picked up the intensity in the 2nd half with Watson making up for an earlier missed opportunity scoring the first of his two tries and McGonigle scoring in spectacular style, diving over a ruck on the try line. Glenzie dominated the scrum all game and after winning the ball against the head, Cruickshanks ran in to continue the scoring with Watson and Derby concluding business. Glenzie were frustrated with their performance throughout the game and perhaps forced the play when cooler heads were needed.
Next game pits them against league leaders Hamilton away on Sunday 2nd Nov.
